What is Coaching?
Coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client which allows for exploration of potential and possibilities. The responsibility for change is on the client and therefore coaching is a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow, and experience empowerment.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching looks to the excitement of the future. It’s all about creating positive change. It honors dreams and explorations. Sessions are to be looked forward to with enthusiasm-you will enjoy them as you recognize your strengths and commitments to yourself! Therapy is about the past. It involves processing experiences that have had a negative impact on a person’s life. Imagine yourself sitting in a car. Looking out the windshield, that’s coaching. Looking at the rearview mirror, that’s therapy. Our sessions are all about that windshield.
How long will coaching take?
The answer is up to you. Some goals are quicker to reach than others. People might also have several areas they would like to explore. It really depends on what is standing in the way of your progress. I’m open to the number of sessions be it a powerful few or several over the course of our time together.
How do I get the most of out of sessions?
Be yourself! Say what is on your mind and don’t hold back when it comes to discussing what you need to be empowered and in control of your life. In between sessions I will give you field work which will help us to keep on track and you moving towards those changes and goals you have identified as needing your focus and energy.
What can I expect from coaching?
You can expect to have a confidential, caring, and relaxed space to explore possibilities, consider options, and recognize your strengths. You’ll have the time to move forward with confidence and receive support and validation from me every step of the way.
